The majority of BCBST employees work remotely, with the flexibility to come into our headquarters in Chattanooga. Some positions require that employees work in person, and those requirements are listed on the job postings.
We value flexibility, and many of our employees enjoy being able to work from home while also having on-campus opportunities. We host a Welcome Wednesday every month, with fun and engaging opportunities for employees, in addition to on-campus trainings and networking. Employees enjoy visiting campus to eat at our delicious cafeteria, use the workout facilities, and use our meeting and collaboration spaces. In addition, employees are always welcome to use our flex work spaces on campus.
Application Process
Yes, you will need to apply for each position separately. Each position may report to a different hiring manager.
You will receive an email from Workday confirming receipt of your application.
The majority of our interviews are via Microsoft Teams, with select positions interviewing on-site. For some positions, two rounds of interviews may be required.

During the interview, the hiring team will assess your skills, knowledge and abilities as related to the role. With that in mind, expect an assortment of behavioral and situational questions. Some interviews may also have a technical component.
After the Interview
If selected for the position, your recruiter will contact you to extend an offer of employment. You should receive more information within two (2) weeks after your interview.
If you are unable to access Workday to acknowledge your offer letter, please contact your recruiter directly for assistance.
Our background check and drug screen process takes approximately two (2) weeks to complete.
Joining the Team
You will be able to enroll in benefits on your first day of employment. Your benefit elections will be retroactively effective the day you are hired.
You will receive a computer, monitors, ARUBA (modem) device, wiring and phone (if applicable). If your position is remote, the equipment will be shipped to your home address prior to your start date. If your position is on-site, your equipment will be set up at your workstation in the office.
The recommended download speed is 4 MBPS, and the recommended upload speed is 2 MBPS. Group/gallery video calls require more bandwidth, and it is recommended to have internet speeds of 5 MBPS download and 3 MBPS upload dedicated to business use and not competing with other household devices.
