Health Opportunities for All

We're taking steps to improve health outcomes across Tennessee so that every person can thrive. Here are just a few of the things we’re doing:

  • We publish the annual Healthy Tennessee Report, to show how social risk factors, backgrounds and geography correlate with health disparities.
  • Our data science team built the Social Risk Index to improve care coordination, reduce avoidable ER and inpatient visits, and better serve our members' real-life needs.
  • Our BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 50 outstanding health care students since 2012.

Health Equity in Tennessee

We believe in better health for all and are taking steps to increase health equity across Tennessee so that every person can thrive. Here are just a few of the things we’re doing to improve access to care across our state:

  • We created the first ever community health equity report for Tennessee this year, to see how race and social factors impact health. Check out the report and our findings here.
  • We developed the Social Vulnerabilities Index to understand how our members’ needs affect their health outcomes.
  • Our BlueSky Foundation has awarded $390,000 in scholarships to 42 outstanding minority health care students since 2012.
